Cajun Spice

I have been on the hunt for a homemade Cajun Spice recipe. I’ve been trying to avoid buying a cajun spice because of the salt content, but I also wanted a recipe that I didn’t have to go out and buy special spices for. Ya know? Something easy and on hand. So, this one is it. You can double the recipe to ensure you have plenty of cajun spice on hand.

2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 1/2 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Black Pepper
1 tsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Cayenne Powder *Less if you don’t like spicy
1 1/4 tsp Dried Oregano
1 1/4 tsp Dried Thyme
1/2 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

– Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
-Store in an air-tight container for up to 3 months.

Makes about 4 tbsp
