Ahhh Hummus. The fall back guy. The result of a last minute invite. The dip to make carrots slightly more exciting. The one we’re all conscious of hours after eating solely because of the garlic content. But let’s be honest here, Hummus is awesome! I snuck a special ingredient into this one that gives it an extra kick.
INGREDIENTS
16 oz Chickpeas or Garbanzo Beans – Canned
1/4 cup Liquid from Chickpeas
3-5 tbsp Lemon Juice
1-2 tbsp Tahini
2-4 cloves Garlic – Minced
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Sesame Oil
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 1/2 tsp Chili paste or Minced Fresh Chili
METHOD
-Drain liquid from chickpeas. Reserve 1/4 cup and discard the rest.
-In large bowl or food processor combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Season to taste either adding more garlic, lemon juice or salt. Or even more chili paste if you want!
-Refrigerate up to 7 days.
